Lock nuts, also known as lock nuts, lock nuts, and self-locking nuts, are nuts used to secure bolts or other fasteners in place. Its working principle is to compress the fixed components after tightening.
The locking nut design has a special locking function, which helps to prevent the nut from loosening and vibration.
They come in different sizes and styles and can be used for various applications, such as fixing electrical connections, fixing two materials together, or connecting machine parts to fixed objects.

A lock nut is a special type of fastener used to secure a bolt in place and prevent it from loosening due to vibration or other forces. They are also known as locking nuts or self-locking nuts. They are usually made of metal and are hexagonal or square in shape.
The method of using a locking nut is to first screw it onto the bolt until it tightly adheres to the fixed material. Then, tighten the second nut onto the lock nut so that the teeth of the lock nut bite the threads of the bolt and lock it in place.
When it comes to how to secure the nut to the bolt, the answer will be slightly different, depending on which type of locking nut you are using. Generally speaking, the initial thread and hand tightening method are the same as standard hexagonal nuts. Then, you need to use a wrench or similar tool to further tighten the nut until it is secure.
In some cases, it is easy to determine which end of the locking nut to tighten first, as some designs based on friction or torque can only lock correctly in one direction. However, it is important to note whether the nut is threaded clockwise or counterclockwise.
For lock nuts of other designs and brands, it may be necessary to use lock nut washers with nuts to ensure complete and secure locking.
